Join us at Seaport Studios to create a decorative steel hook. Students will learn safety plus basic blacksmithing techniques such as hammer control, tapering, bending and twisting. You will have the opportunity to create one or two decorative hooks.

This class is highly recommended for beginning students. This will teach you the fundamentals of blacksmithing with a great repeatable project. It also will give you a chance to practice hammer control, before attempting more advanced projects.

Please wear all natural fibers such as cotton jeans, t-shirts, wool or leather. Wear closed toed shoes. Synthetic shoes such as sneakers, not advised. Synthetic fabrics, such as polyester, nylon and spandex melt and stick to skin when heated. Do not wear synthetic clothing when working with fire.
