May 12th - Learn to Forge and Weld Garden Art!

$300.00

10am - 6pm This is A First Time Blacksmith Class- Level 1

Teacher: Celeste Flores and Jenny Mount

Join us at Seaport Studios to create some beautiful garden art. The day will start with coffee and blacksmithing safety instructions. Students will be walked through some forging projects with Celeste. There will also be lots of precut items available for texturing and bending with lots of spare parts to weld together. We will use fire and hammers to texture butterflies, flowers and more. We can forge some other items collaboratively. Such as birds and tapers for tendrils. The idea is to work quickly and get many parts made before moving onto welding.

After lunch we will continue with our projects by learning welding safety with Jenny Mount. Students will learn to MIG weld and have the opportunity to practice their new skills before assembling their garden stake. Afterwards they can sand and finish their projects.

This is an intense but fun class. Celeste and Jenny are committed and supportive instructions that will make sure you succeed at creating some fun and creative new art for your garden.
